Description of Current Transformer 5A 5mA This current transformer is ideal for use as a part of a Hall-effect current sensor circuit. The transformer has a current ratio of 5A to 5mA (1000:1 turn ratio). Simply feed the cable you would like to monitor current on through the current transformer. The output is 1mA per 1A on the monitored cable. From there, the output can be converted to an appropriate signal for your project. The module is not exactly breadboard compatible, but close enough that the legs could be worked into a standard 0.1”” / 2.54mm pitch breadboard or perfboard.
